Philips Saeco SM5570 / 5572/ 5573 has 7 keys:

 

 

• “Espresso" - programmed from 30 to 70, from the factory 40 ml;
• "Coffee" is a special program, the piston in the infusion unit does not tamp down the coffee tablet to the end, but only binds, thereby reducing the extraction and the final saturation of the drink;
• "Americano" - special program, the coffee maker brews espresso, and then adds hot water. Also, since it is implemented, for example, by Melitta Barista. Moreover, this is the way they cook American in coffee shops;
• "Cappuccino" - coffee from 20 to 60 ml, milk from 100 to 160 ml. From the factory: milk 120 ml, then espresso with maximum pre-soaking (about it - below) 40 ml;
• "Latte Macchiato". The same as cappuccino, the difference in proportions and pre-wetting is the average. From the factory: milk 200 ml, then 40 ml espresso;
• "Café au Lait" (coffee with milk) - a special program of "the right cappuccino";
• "Hot water" - from 60 to 420 ml.

• "Doppio" is a double espresso;
• "Lungo" is a typical Lungo of a big volume (from a factory of 100 ml) with an average value of pre-wetting;
• "Coffee cream" is similar lungo, only more (160 ml from the factory) and pre-wetting is disabled, for this drink it is desirable to set the grinding larger than for espresso / lungo;
• Espresso Macchiato;
• "Melange" - from the factory first 70 ml of milk, then 70 ml of Lungo.

Modernization of the control panel is not only allowed to save more recipes, implement many new cooking programs, but also to improve the approach to conventional settings.

 

 

An important additional flavor setting parameter is pre-wetting. There's no need to note that along with the number of memory cells, recipes, the machine received a real tool for the variability of the final taste of black coffee - setting the time of preliminary wetting the coffee tablet.

 

 

This affects the saturation of taste. Regarding a coffee machine, this setting is called "taste." Beyond just the standard one, two more modes appeared: "light" (without pre-wetting, the machine starts shedding water through the coffee tablet as well as stop) and "saturated" (the machine first wetts the tablet, then makes a longer pause and starts the main cooking cycle). This can be a typical sign of the flagship series, this was and consistantly improves Saeco Exprelia and Xelsis. Of course, to the level of semi-professional machines such as WMF 900, where pre-wetting can be adjusted to within a second and lasting up to 60, we did not grow up. But this class of equipment is slightly different. I assure you, even three of these levels will be enough for 95% of users with a head.

 

 

As you have seen, if you carefully examine the table, it becomes clear that Saeco PicoBarista Deluxe focuses on variations black coffee, for him it has more settings and special programs, really different cooking modes. Also Philips in favor if the compactness is important. And Delonghi should choose those who care about milk. Plus, those who appreciate specific things like a color screen and remote control from the phone. Do not observe the millstones of the grinder. The Philips released a major update. Upgrading to Saeco PicoBarista Deluxe is a serious and long overdue step forward. And then for the old "Pik" asked for 50-60 thousand rubles, and nothing interesting against the competition, he could not even imagine that. The Saeco SM-5570, SM-5572 and SM-5573 are another matter. Generally this can be the level of flagship coffee machines. Advanced control with 7 buttons for direct start of drinks, their total number, 4 user profiles, presetting time setting is all from the top series. Concurrently, the line can't be reproached for having neither a special program for the American nor a "correct cappuccino" mode - there is Café au lait here, when the milk is poured into an espresso, all right.
